How will congress events be selected?

The World Parks Congress Management Committee is looking for congress events which add value and contribute to the outcomes of the Congress. The Committee will assess applications based on venue availability and the following selection criteria:

  1. The proposed congress event broadly relates to the purpose of the Congress and Congress streams and cross-cutting themes
  2. The proposed congress event adds value to the Congress and for the delegates (i.e. the proposed event is not simply a meeting to continue the work of the day but provides an opportunity for delegates to network and socialise, for example a function, book launch, performance or creative activity)
  3. The assessment of congress event proposals will also take into account the overall diversity of congress events with regard to event type, country of origin and subject matter.

The World Parks Congress Management Committee will have the final decision the selection of congress events.
