Registration for the World Parks Congress 2014 is now open. Participants may register for the Congress in full or for an individual day.

International Participants – IMPORTANT !

1.Lodge your visa as soon as possible. Visa applications made after 12 October 2014 cannot be guaranteed to be processed on time.

2. Read all available visa guidelines. When completing either paper or electronic visa applications, ensure that you have read the visa application information guidelines before completing your visa application.

3. Attach supporting documentation. Ensure to attach the necessary, supporting documentation with your application at the time of lodgement. Failure to do so may result in processing delays and/or refusal of an Australian visa.

It's important that prior to applying for your visa, you register and pay for your Congress registration. Only then will you receive a letter (via email) that can be used to support your visa application.

How to Register

Registration can be submitted by completing the online form above. Registration must be completed by 30 June 2014 to incur the early bird rates. After this date the rates will increase as per the table below.

All fees are quoted in Australian dollars and are inclusive of 10% Goods and Service Tax (GST).

* To be eligible for the member's rate you must be an IUCN and/or Commission Member. All members will be crossed checked for eligibility.

Please note, catering is not included in the registration fees.

Social Functions

Tickets to the social functions are not included in the registration fees unless specified otherwise. You may indicate your attendance at any of the social functions at the same time as registering.

All international delegates travelling to Australia will require a valid visa to be able to enter the country and attend the Congress. Once you have registered and paid to attend the Congress you will receive a confirmation letter and tax invoice which will suffice for your visa application.

It is suggested that you allow up to 2 months for your visa application to be processed (or 4 months if you have character or health concerns). For further information, please visit the Visa Information page of the website.


The WPC2014 Secretariat has confirmed rooms in selected hotels for the benefit of Congress participants. The hotels have been selected for their proximity to Sydney Olympic Park and you are encouraged to secure your accommodation when you register to ensure that you receive competitive rates, negotiated for Congress participants. Accommodation can be booked via the registration form; please see the Accommodation page for more information.

Method of Payment

Registration can only be confirmed once payment is received.

Payment can be made by any of the following methods:

  3. Cheque / Bank draft

Payment deadlines

Registrations received by 30 June 2014 must be paid in full by 30 June 2014 in order to receive the early bird registration rate.

Registration Cancellation Policy

Deadline: 1 October 2014

Cancellations must be notified in writing (e-mail is sufficient) to the Congress Secretariat. Cancellations made by 1 October 2014 will result in a full refund less AU$150 to cover administration costs. As an alternative to cancellation, your registration may be transferred to another person by 1 October 2014 without incurring any cost penalty. Refunds for cancellations received after 1 October 2014 will only be made in exceptional circumstances. NB: Failure to obtain a travel visa will not warrant a refund. The Congress Secretariat must be advised in writing of any alterations or transfers.


All best endeavors will be made to present the program as printed on this website. The Congress and its agents reserve the right to alter without prior notice, any of the arrangements, timetables, plans or other items relating to the Congress, for any cause beyond its reasonable control. The Organising Committees and the Congress Organisers are not liable for any loss or inconvenience caused as a result of such alteration. In the event of unforeseen circumstances, the Organising Committees and the Congress Organisers do not accept responsibility for loss of monies caused by delays. Participants are advised to take out personal travel insurance and to extend their policy to cover personal possessions. The Congress does not cover individuals against cancellations of bookings or theft or damage to belongings.
