Parks Australia supports the Director of National Parks, the federal park agency, in conserving Australia's biodiversity and cultural heritage. We manage the Commonwealth's terrestrial and marine protected areas, including six national parks (three jointly managed with their traditional owners), three botanic gardens and one of the largest networks of marine reserves in the world. The parks range from tiny Pulu-Keeling, a pristine atoll far out in the Indian Ocean, to the iconic dual World Heritage-listed sites of Uluru-Kata Tjuta and Kakadu.

We are delighted to be co-hosting the IUCN World Parks Congress with our colleagues in the New South Wales National Parks and Wildlife Service – and look forward to welcoming inspiring leaders from around the world.
