Henry Djombo is Minister for Forestry, Environment and Sustainable Development, Republic of Congo. Born in 1952 in Enyellé, Congo, he completed his studies in former Leningrad, URSS. In 1976 he joined Congo public administration, worked in the ministry for rural economy and ministry for water and forests. He was Ambassador of Congo to Bulgaria from 1986 to 1988, and CEO of SUCO (Congo Sugar Company) from 1989 to 1991. Minister of Forestry since November1997, he is one of the founders of the Congo Basin Forest Conservation Initiative.
